Opua is a small, friendly community
Opua has an international recreational port, marina and wharf, where you’ll find a good restaurant, a post office, and a small convenience store. Three charter boat companies operate out of the port, plus several independent tour boats. Short and long-term yacht moorings are available for both local and overseas vessels in the new 240-berth marina, and there are two boatyards, sail and engine shops, and other support services, if your boat needs repairing. Fishing is permitted on the wharf.
