Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, is the capital of the South Pacific

With its lovely sheltered harbour, and mostly surrounded by water, Auckland is a dynamic, cosmopolitan city with a multicultural heart. It has heritage buildings, excellent museums, beautiful public gardens and a bustling city centre. The city’s mild weather lends itself to an outdoor lifestyle and alfresco dining, particularly on the water’s edge, is one of the city's great pleasures. At Sky City, in the heart of Auckland, at its surrounding streets, are lots of excellent shopping opportunities, from fashion outlets to world brand-name shops and quality New Zealand arts and crafts outlets.

A stay at inner city hotels such as Latitude 37, a cosmopolitan waterfront apartment complex or Barrycourt at Parnell, or either of Airport Bed & Breakfast and BKs Pioneer Motor Lodge near the airport are good Auckland accommodation choices.
