Village Lodge
The Village Lodge Taupo is an affordable solution for a low cost stay in the Great Lake District. Situated in the Wairakei Park & only a ten minute drive from the town centre.
Village Lodge caters easily for groups of up to 60 people and is perfect for school camps, sports clubs, social clubs, family groups, contractors, reunions, small business functions & tradespeople looking for budget accommodation in the Taupo area.
The team at the Village Lodge have an extensive knowledge of the activites and attractions available beside the Great Lake and can easily design an accommodation/attraction package to suit your budget.
The Lodge building is suited to comfortably accommodate up to 46 people. There are 23 rooms, most are twin share with a few doubles. Each room is individually heated and the comfortable beds are made up with fresh linen. There is a wardrobe, small vanity and towels are supplied for your convenience.
A warm fire awaits you in the large T.V lounge which contains tea and coffee making facilities, microwave, jug, toaster, fridge and all the crockery and utensils your group may require.
The bathrooms are just down the hall.
A coin operated laundry is situated adjacent to the reception office.
Single- $45.00
Double/twin- $70.00
Children under 14 years- $15.00
NB Two night minimum stay may apply on Public Holidays and major event weekends.
Kiwi Bach
A self contained one bedroom unit ideal for two people. Feel free to bring a friend as there is a comfortable day bed in the lounge. The little kitchen contains fridge, jug, toaster, microwave and all the crockery and utensils you may require.
A coin operated laundry is situated adjacent to the reception office.
Single - $60.00 per night.
Couple - $85.00 per night.
Extra person - $15.00 per night.

Directions to Village Lodge
From North (Auckland via Hamilton): Travelling South on State Highway One about 350 metres before the turn off to Taupo on the left is the entrance to Wairakei Village (Kauri Drive). Follow the road into the village where you will arrive at the Village Green. You will then see a kiddies playground. The entrance to the Lodge is behind the playground.From North (Rotorua): 11km from Taupo on State Highway Five is the turn off to Hamilton. About 400 metres before this turnoff on the right is the entrance to Wairakei Village (Kauri Drive). Follow the road into the village where you will arrive at the Village Green. The entrance to the Lodge is at the opposite end of the green.
From South (Wellington): 11km north of Taupo is the turn off onto State Highway One heading towards Hamilton. Take this route and about 350 metres on the right is the entrance to the Wairakei Village (Kauri Drive). Follow the road into the village where you will arrive at the Village Green. You will then see a kiddies playground. The entrance to the Lodge is behind the playground.
