Somerset House
Somerset House is the historic home of the ministers of Collingwood church. It has been sympathetically restored and renovated as a backpackers hostel sleeping 17 with a small tentsite. It is quiet, calm and serene with birdsong to waken one in the morning, near the busroute and only 1 minute to the shop, pub and restaurants of Collingwood. With spacious accomodation and a relaxed atmosphere it is the ideal spot to "chill out" and recharge your batteries. BBH membership prices will enable you to live within your budget.
Somerset House is well situated to explore beautiful Farewell Spit and Golden Bay, close to the Heaphy Track, individual transport to the Brown Hut is available as well as a regular bus service in the season.

Directions to Somerset House
The route to Collingwood from Nelson follows Highway 60 through Motueka and Takaka, a journey of about 2 hours.In Collingwood the hostel is situated on the road behind the Courthouse Cafe. Turn right into Gibbs Road.
