"The Cottage" Homestay Bed and Breakfast provides charming, picturesque, accommodation, with old world charm, in a tranquil bush setting beside the lower Waiau River in the Manapouri township of Fiordland.
Enjoy the clear bell-like notes of the Bellbirds and the mimicing Tuis, in our cottage garden.
Our bed and breakfast is only 15mins from TeAnau.
We have lovely views through the trees of the river, lake and Fiordland's mountains.
"The Cottage" is ideally situated to visit all of Fiordland's scenic wonders, Doubtful Sound, Milford Sound and the many walks in the area. We can also help arrange other activities including kayaking, fishing, cruises and scenic trips.
A two-minute walk through the Mountain Beech Trees will take you to the wharf where the boats depart for the Majestic Doubtful Sound, Fiordland and the remarkable Manapouri Power Station.
Our lovely, comfortable guestrooms are warm with ensuite bathrooms and tea and coffee making facilities. Beds have electric blankets and there is a T.V. and video in each room.
You are able to share a fridge, microwave and the lounge, where you can listen to light music, or chat by the warm fire.
We, with Millie, (our Bearded Collie) look forward to welcoming you to our home.

TARIFF for the 2008 - 2009 Season
Double $135 - $160 GST Inc.
Single $120 - $150 GST Inc.
A special continental breakfast, which includes, fresh fruits, porridge with dates or banana with Manaka Honey, homemade bread and a fresh boiled egg, is included in the tariff. Hamish (our rooster) encourages his girls to produce an egg for your breakfast.
Full Cooked Breakfast ( Bacon and Eggs) $12 extra per person.
NB: We request no smoking inside our home.

Manapouri is a small town 20km south of Te Anau on the Southern Scenic Route, on the shores of Lake Manapouri. The serenity and charm of the Lake Manapouri backed by bushclad mountains has it justly described as the most beautiful lake in New Zealand.Travelling Times by car to Manapouri:

Invercargill via Southern Scenic Route - 2hrs. 30mins.
Milford Sound - 2hrs 20mins.
Dunedin - 3hrs 30mins.
