Overlooking Motueka River Valley and the Mt Arthur range, this charming 130yr old Cottage has welcomed homestay guests for over 25yrs.
Situated in 4 acres of secluded native trees, ferns and flower gardens on a natural river terrace, Doone Cottage offers homely hospitality, peace and tranquillity, friendly, helpful, experienced hosts, very comfortable beds, full en suites, spa pool, all home cooked meals, homemade breads, preserves, homegrown produce, free range eggs etc.
Comfortably furnished cottage-style, Guest rooms & private Garden Chalet have extensive garden/valley views. Native birds abound, sheep, chickens, ducks and donkeys.
Your hostess spins wool from the raw fleece, her weaving studio offers sweaters, blankets, wallhangings, rugs etc. which she has produced.
Our central location offers short distances to excellent day trips/activities in ABEL TASMAN, KAHAURANGI and NELSON LAKES National Parks , Nelson and Golden Bay - mountain and coastal bush walks, wilderness fishing, golf etc. ( Bookings handled for cruising, watertaxis, kayaking, horsetrekking.) The stream flowing through the property joins the Motueka River just across the road, famous for its brown trout, with five more trout streams closeby - Guiding available.

All rooms come with a full Ensuite (twin, double and king) and include a full breakfast.
Two in-house rooms have wonderful views of extensive garden with private verandah. The private Mountain View Chalet has its own dressing room & refrigerator, TV and large deck overlooking the river valley.
