The Ambers is a charming old-style European country house set in 14 park-like acres with formal rose gardens, fountains, mature trees and olive grove.
Located just 30 minutes from downtown Auckland, and only 1km from the Silverdale exit of the Northern Motorway , it is a convenient & relaxing stopover for tourists on their way north after their arrival at Auckland airport or on their way south to the Coromandel or Rotorua.
It is also a great weekend stay for Aucklanders with Orewa beach and the Whangaparoa Peninsular only minutes away.
There are beautiful beaches, golf courses, cafes and restaurants nearby plus the local Silverdale factory outlet shops and country market on Saturday mornings are always worth a visit.
Tiri Tiri Matangi Island bird sanctuary is also close by and can be reached by local ferry and there are many coastal walks in the vicinity.
It is a romantic venue for those wanting to take a break from their busy lifestyles and also for Marquee weddings in the garden in summer.
The Ambers offers elegant country accommodation inclusive of full European-style cooked breakfast. Try our delicious 'Eggs Amber' or pancakes with a 'Kiwi' twist.
Breakfast is served in our formal dining room with fine linen & silver tableware, or on the terrace for a more relaxed start to the day.
In the evening sit in the garden with complimentary pre-dinner drinks and hors-d’oeuvres or play a game of petanque. In winter relax in front of a roaring open fire in our elegant lounge with a vintage sherry or port and play chess.
We have 4 double bedrooms, 3 with their own en-suites. Choose from our elegant 'Regency Room' or French style 'Blue Room' both on the 1st floor, or our romantic attic suite with antique claw-footed bath. The attic rooms make an ideal family suite.
