Sussex House Bed & Breakfast
Sussex House is a central city, double storey 1880’s fully restored bed & breakfast accomodation provider. We offer superior ensuite accommodation overlooking the river and parks and are close to Restaurants, Cafes and Galleries.
Room One - Strauss
The Strauss Room is a queen room with ensuite bathroom. It features French doors onto the verandahs and has a delightful view of the beautiful Maitai River, both from the bed and from the verandahs. Decorated in blues, this is a very quiet, peaceful room.

Room Two - Beethoven
On the same side of the house, the Beethoven Room has two sets of French doors onto the verandahs. It also has a wonderful view over the river and down into the English gardens. This queen/twin room has a queensize bed and a single bed and has a private bathroom down the hall. Bathrobes are provided.

Room Three - Mozart
Featuring a sunny bay window, this room gets the morning sun and also has an ensuite bathroom. Decorated in greens, it has a queen and a single bed, perfect for people travelling together but needing separate beds. This room is on the street side, but has a lovely view up towards the "Centre of New Zealand" (Botanical Hill).

Room Four - Brahms
Another delightful morning room, this queen with ensuite is located towards the centre of the house and away from the river and the street. Access onto the verandahs is via a door on the upstairs landing. This room, also decorated in green tonings, exudes character and charm.

Room Five - Schubert
Schubert is our only ground floor bedroom. It has a queen bed, ensuite bathroom and features a lovely sunny bay window with window seat. Richly decorated in cream and burgundy, it has a very soothing and peaceful effect on the weary traveller. As this room is on the ground floor, it has been adapted for guests requiring wheelchairs. It has, in addition, a convertible single bed, thus sleeping three people.
