The Cabbage Tree
Peace and privacy in the heart of the countryside yet so close to town. Our farm is thirty-five acres of rural bliss just 15 minutes from Whangarei or 60 minutes from the Bay of Islands. Superb riverbank location, with meandering tree-lined streams, abundant birdlife and tranquillity - a true haven.
The Cabbage Tree is your own self-catering, quirky little country haven - located away from the main house, and attached to the garage. It has its own entrance and parking, leaving you free to come and go as you wish.
Facilities are all yours - you don't share with anyone - so you can enjoy the backpacker tariff without the communal living.
A separate bedroom sleeps one or two in a double bed, private bathroom is stocked with basic toiletries, combined sitting/dining room complete with CD player and selection of music, mini library with books, magazines and games to pass an evening. The kitchenette has tea & coffee making facilities and supplies, microwave, hot plates, toaster & fridge. We lived here while building the farmhouse and although very simple it is clean and sunny as well as being a great budget priced option - a great base to explore Northland from.
All linen included, dial up internet connection available by arrangement, fully equipped kitchenette, and best of all tariff includes continental breakfast provisions. Laundry service available at $6 per load - wash & dry only.
There is a nearby village with Service Station, Post Shop, General Store & Takeways only 10 mins drive or enjoy a drive along country lanes to a great Country Pub which does meals every evening and lunches & espresso at weekends - just 6 mins drive. We also stock the basics in our own mini shop.
