Makarora Homestead

Surrounded by the Mt Aspiring World Heritage National Park - Makarora Homestead offers a secluded retreat in the midst of the Southern Alps.

Makarora Homestead is an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding temperate rain forests, national parks and scenic reserves.

Every 2 years Warbirds takes place in Wanaka... get out of the crazyness that Wanaka becomes and stay in the peace that is Makarora.

Cottage Room B&B Option
These 2 new detached bedrooms have a queen bed & single bed, ensuite bathroom and tea/coffee facilities.
Your continental breakfast basket is supplied in the room to enable guests to breakfast at leisure on the verandah overlooking the surrounding deer farm & spectacular mountain views.

Studio B&B Option
For those travellers looking to cater for themselves our updated studio contains a kitchenette, ensuite bathroom and private balcony at the edge of the bush. Your continental breakfast basket is supplied in the room to enable guests to breakfast at leisure on the verandah overlooking the surrounding deer farm and spectacular mountain views.

Homestead B&B room or self-contained
Makarora Homestead is a large 2 storey house. The private sunny deck leads into a spacious open plan kitchen/dining/living area with a large logburner & abundant supply of wood. The sunny conservatory is a favourite place to relax with a book or play the fooseball game. With a fully equipped kitchen guests can create any culinary delight they can imagine or use the gas barbeque on the deck. With linen supplied guests only need to bring their food, to enjoy their mountain haven. And for those not in the mood to cook try out the local bar/restaurant which is a delightful 5 minute stroll from the Homestead.

Option of B&B with private bathroom & toilet sharing guest kitchen/lounge/conservatory.

Cancellation Policy
We require 48 hours notice of need to cancel prior to night of stay. The unlikely event of a failure to show or to notify will result in the first night's accommodation being charged for.
