CAPTAIN COOK MOTOR LODGE is less than 100m from Gisborne’s famous central city beach, Waikanae. Waikanae Beach is patrolled by lifeguards all summer and is usually sheltered from big waves. It is the ideal, safe beach for children to play and swim and is a great place to learn to surf. It is also a magnificent beach for long walks along the sand to Midway Beach and beyond ... and the sunsets over the bay have to be seen to be believed. Captain Cook Motor Lodge is just a few blocks from the city centre and a similar distance to the cafés and bars on Gisborne’s inner harbour.
The CAPTAIN COOK was a brand new complex in 2004 and offers 21 spacious self contained units. Studio and 1-2 bedroom units are available, many with private spa facilities.
The CAPTAIN COOK has a fully licensed bar and restaurant offering scrumptious breakfast’s and evening meals, or a place to unwind over a drink. Adjoining the restaurant is the conference room catering for up to 30 people, full catering is available.
