Ribbonwood Retreat
Sleep soundly breathing fresh country air. We cater for just a few guests at Ribbonwood because we want you to feel completely at home. We pride ourselves on our knowledge of the region and offer friendly personalised advice.
You will be warmly welcomed into our clean and sunny modern home. Our home has two guest rooms with comfortable new beds with electric blankets and luxury bathrooms featuring powerful showers. The new private self-contained cottage has timber panelled walls, and large deck looking out to the mountains and farmland. Breakfast includes fresh fruit crepes, freshly ground coffee and delicious homemade bread.
With stunning views of mountains, glaciers and forests of Westland National Park, Ribbonwood is five minutes drive from glacier walks, scenic flights and restaurants of Franz Josef village.
Hosts Julie is a school teacher and Jo a conservation ranger specialises in flora and fauna, especially native birds.

Directions to Ribbonwood Retreat
Ribbonwood is located approx. 5km north of the Franz Josef township on State Highway 6 (the main road). If traveling from the south (Wanaka/Queenstown) then carry on north through the Franz Josef township and we will be on your left hand side. If traveling from the north (through Hokitika) we are exactly 25 kms from Whataroa, the last township before Franz Josef.We are the first house from the corner of State Highway 6 and Greens road. Our house is two storied, light brown with blue roof. Look out for the two arched windows on the top floor. If traveling by coach ask the driver to drop you off at the Greens road corner.
