Moorhill
A warm welcome awaits you at Moorhill. After a busy day, relax in our private, mature garden or share travel experiences over a glass of wine. We are ideally situated for relaxing weekends; a base for sightseeing or exploring Taupo’s more adventurous activities. Enjoy a delicious cooked breakfast before another day of exciting Taupo activities or continuing your journey through the North Island.
The Magnolia room has queen sized bed, luxury ensuite and sitting area opening onto the garden. Upstairs the spacious Cherry room has a super king/twin bed option, ensuite and sitting area with views of Lake Taupo. Both rooms have tea making facilities, fridges, heated towel rails, hairdryers and electric blankets.
The guest lounge, opening onto sunny decks and garden, has a range of books, games, T.V. and music. Breakfast at your leisure from a range of continental and/or cooked options. We have ample off-street parking for cars and boats.
Our smoke-free home is a short walk from the Lake, the Botanical Gardens and a few minutes drive to town, restaurants and thermal pools. Huka Falls, Craters of the Moon and other sightseeing attractions are just a short distance and for those who crave more exciting activities, parasailing, tandem sky diving, bungy jumping and jet boating are also close by. Trout fishing, boating, skiing, snowboarding, tramping, mountain walks are within easy reach and we are happy to arrange trips and activities as required.
We enjoy meeting people, sharing our travel experiences, our home and our garden. Peter is a sports fan(atic) whilst Liz dabbles in flower painting, photography and needlework. We both enjoy music, good food and wine and hope that guests will enjoy our hospitality.

From Taupo Information Centre travel south on SH1 for approx. 3 kms. After passing the Napier turnoff take the second left up Shepherd Road as far as the stop sign.
