Pohutukawa Cove is a delightful rural and coastal area at Pahoia, on the Tauranga Harbour in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Pahoia is situated between Coromandel Peninsula, famous for its beautiful sandy beaches and Pohutukawa covered bays, and the Western Bay of Plenty, well known for its spectacular beaches, bush scenery and thermal activity.
The self-contained cottage has panoramic sea views from the lounge, bedroom and balcony, its own private sandy beachfront, and is nestled amongst olive trees and sub-tropical gardens. A perfect retreat for those seeking a special ambience for literature and art.
The Cove is covered in Pohutukawa trees (NZ Christmas Trees) and depending on the time of year you can enjoy watching Tuis, Herons, Rozellas and the sea birds that visit.
Kiwifruit and avocado orchards, olive and citrus groves, and vineyards and wineries are in abundance. There are numerous attractions and activities in close proximity. The area is famous for it beaches, fishing, historic gold trails and thermal areas. Tauranga and the famous surf beach of Mount Maunganui are within a half hour drive. Bush walks to view the magnificent Kauri trees or to view the huge Bay vista are within easy reach. Sailing, kayaking, swimming and fishing are literally at your doorstep. Golf courses are numerous - there are two within 10 minutes drive and many more within a half hour.
