You are very welcome to share our quiet location with views over the island-dotted ocean from our Paku Hill home.
We can promise you magnificent breakfasts to start your day and afternoon tea on the deck where you can enjoy the sea views.
Why not try a short walk to the top of Mount Paku for fabulous panoramic views of ocean, islands, sea coast and Tairua Estuary.
Our accommodation includes two bedrooms:
TUI ROOM: Queen (and Single bed if required) with ensuite bathroom, own lounge & private balcony
KIWI ROOM: Queen bed, private bathroom and own entrance from large deck.
Our library has books on the local history of the area and all yhou need to know about the many daily activities available.
A short walk to the bottom of the hill takes you to several restaurants.
Famous Hot water Beach and Cathedral Cove are just a short drive away.

Directions to Colonial Homestay
Depart Auckland heading South on State Highway 1 (Southern Motorway).After crossing the Bombay Hills, turn left at the foot of the hill and onto State Highway 2
(sign-posted Thames or Coromandel Peninsula).
Turn left onto State Highway 25 following road signs to Thames.
After crossing Kopu Bridge (a long, single-lane bridge controlled by traffic lights)
keep following road signs to Tairua. You will turn right at the T-junction with the Mobil Service Station and then left within one kilometre (half a mile) onto State Highway 25A still following road signs to Tairua. This road takes you over the main range to Hikuai where the highway changes to SH 25 and at this point follow signposts to Tairua and Whitianga heading in a Northerly direction.
Follow this State Highway 25 till you reach Tairua.
In the middle of the township, turn right opposite the Gull Service Station into Manaia Road and continue to end of this road. Turn right into Paku Drive then up a winding road to the top of Paku Hill.
Our house, No. 202, is beside the reserve and is sign-posted.
Parking is indicated on the semi-circular driveway.
