The Masters Lodge
The Master’s Lodge is a small luxury lodge positioned on Bluff Hill in the city of Napier with spectacular views over the blue Pacific Ocean, Cape Kidnappers and the Marine Parade. This historically distinctive residence was originally built for tobacco magnate Gerhard Husheer, Director of the National Tobacco Company. The residence was redeveloped by famed architect Louis Hay in the early 1930s when he designed Napier’s most famous Art Deco building – the National Tobacco Company Building – and features original cast iron bath tubs, servant bell system and extensive leadlighting (stained glass). The Lodge offers two (2) guest suites with private ensuites, solarium, living room and lounge, formal dining room, games room, shady verandahs, and beautifully maintained flower gardens in park-like grounds. Additionally, there are outdoor dining areas, a superbly stocked wine cellar, off-street parking, and much, much more! The Lodge overlooks Cape Kidnappers, the Art Deco City of Napier, the Pacific Ocean and the Marine Parade. The beach, shops, restaurants, museums and central business district are all within a 10 minute walk from the Lodge.

Directions to The Masters Lodge
Driving into Napier, follow the signs to the Visitor Information Centre on Marine Parade. From the Visitor Centre follow Marine Parade 700m. North (the Pacific Ocean is on your right). Turn left at the Centennial Gardens onto Coote Road following the road until making a right turn onto Thompson Road. At the top of the hill, turn right onto Lighthouse Road.
