Kia Ora and welcome to Aranga Backpackers - our fun, super-friendly Backpackers lodge! We are the biggest and best-known Backpackers in the area.

Aranga Backpackers is surrounded by lush native bush and set beside the beautiful Kerikeri River, but we are just a 5 minute walk to the main centre of Kerikeri.

We offer twin rooms with two single beds, double rooms with one Double bed, dorm rooms that sleep up to 7 travellers, camping sites and more.

Our awesome facilities include a huge backpacker’s kitchen and lounge area, DVD and TV room, wireless internet and internet kiosks and an excellent phone system that makes calling home easy. We also have free kayaks for you to paddle up the river.

Our awesome BBQ area has a roof that opens right out to let the Pacific stars shine down.

The prices listed are all based on a one week stay (or more).
If you’d like to stay less than a week, just contact us.

Twin Rooms
Twin Rooms have two single bunk beds (Quality, sturdy wooden frames that are fixed in place with quality inner-sprung mattresses). There is also a small table and chairs, shelving and a selection of crockery, cutlery, pots etc.
Rate is $120 per person per week.

Double Rooms
Double Rooms have one double bed, shelving and/or a wardrobe, a small table and chairs, plus crockery, cutlery, pots etc.
Rate is $120 per week per person ($240 per couple per week).

Dorm Rooms
Our Dorm Rooms sleep up to 6 people and include a large fridge-freezer and large dining table and chairs.
From $110.00

Camp Sites
We have both powered sites for motorhomes/campervans and non-powered sites for tenting, set right beside our beautiful river.
Rate from $80.00 per week.

Directions to Aranga Backpackers

Driving/Hitching a Ride
As you enter Kerikeri (turning off from State Highway 10), you are travelling along the main Kerikeri Road.

On your left, look out for Aranga Road. The Kerikeri Top 10 sign is hard to miss, and there is a BP Petrol Station on your right.

Turn into Aranga Road and follow it down to the end – then, welcome!

Arriving by Bus:
Most bus drivers will drop you off at our gate – but if not, just phone us from the Bus Stop and we will come and pick you up – free.
